How does a wine with character come about? During a walk through the museum and the grape variety garden, you will learn more about the work of the vintner and the significance of wine at Lake Zurich.
Following that, we will continue the history of viticulture at Lake Zurich with a tasting. You decide how many wines your group would like to sample.
We usually start with our rarity, our historic Räuschling. Discover how the wine tasted at Lake Zurich 100 years ago — you will not forget this sensuous, tangy experience. Today's Lake Zurich wines that follow will satisfy and delight your palate.
Tastings – Aperitif
During a guided wine tasting or aperitif, we continue the story of viticulture at Lake Zurich based on the chosen wines.
You decide how far your tasting journey will go around Lake Zurich. Perhaps you focus on one wine (Aperitif) or compare two to three wines (small tasting) or four to six wines (large tasting). The price of the large tasting includes a serving of bread per person.
Wine
You can choose from 36 different wines from 18 vintners around Lake Zurich. You select the wine on-site, and our guides will be happy to advise you. Perhaps you want to undertake a wine journey through three centuries — starting with a Råuschling, the indigenous Zurich Lake grape variety, followed by a 20th-century wine, such as Müller-Thurgau, ending with a disease-resistant grape variety back in the 21st century.
Cheese Aperitif Platters
We source our cheese aperitif platters from «Preisig Käse & Wein» in Richterswil. The lovingly curated platters with various hearty cheese specialties, all neatly labeled, garnished with meat, olives, and fruits, are well known far beyond Richterswil. If desired, the platters are available without meat, and fresh bread is always included.
For vegetarians, there is a vegetable dip platter with the Preisig House Sauce or with Hummus as a vegan version.
A visit to the Au Peninsula is an experience for all the senses.
