Wedding amid art in the Bel Etage

Powerful rows of beech trees suggest that the garden of Villa Tobler is hidden behind high walls. This gem in the old town has a varied history. The architectural highlight dates from the Art Nouveau period, but authentic parts from all design phases are preserved. On behalf of bank director Jakob Emil Tobler-Finsler and his son Gustav Adolf Tobler-Blumer, architect Gustav Wegmann built the stately villa at Winkelwiese in 1853 in late Classicism style. A profound renovation of the house was carried out in 1900 by Hans Heinrich Conrad von Muralt. The interior design was created by Eduard von Berlepsch-Valendas. Today, this sumptuous Art Nouveau interior is considered one of the most beautiful in Zurich.
