Unforgettable Experiences in the Alps

It is becoming increasingly difficult for companies to find original event locations and activities for clients or team events. Fortunately, there are always creative event service providers who positively surprise with special locations and ideas. Events in igloo villages are particularly popular in the winter months.

Who hasn't dreamed of sleeping in an igloo like the Inuits? Before the autumn and winter season starts, we would like to introduce you to some interesting igloo villages / activities. Activities and overnight stays in igloo villages are now offered all over the world. There are also exciting outdoor activities. These range from building your own event igloo as a team-building event, to social fondue dining in an igloo, to a dream wedding - celebrated in ice and snow.

Igloo villages for team events, customer events, private celebrations, incentives or the wedding of your dreams

Events in igloo villages are suitable for romantic hours for two as well as for team and customer events. The only criterion - you must not be too sensitive to the cold. Although snow insulates very well, temperatures between 0 - 5°C are rather "fresh". Thermal underwear, ski clothing, hat, gloves and moon boots are therefore essential. Some igloo villages also have a whirlpool - with a water temperature between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius, it's wonderful to warm up there ... Of course, this information varies depending on the location. Detailed information on the igloos, as well as information on offers and activities, can be found on the websites of the individual providers. Locations in Switzerland

In Switzerland, Germany and Austria, Igloo Dorf GmbH has created beautiful and romantic igloo villages at various locations.

Igloo villages of the Iglu Dorf GmbH

Davos-Klosters in the Grisons, Engelberg-Titlis in the canton of Obwalden, in Gstaad and on the Stockhorn in the Bernese Oberland and in Zermatt in the Valais. The igloo villages Zugspitze (Germany) and Kühtai in the Tyrol (Austria) also belong to Iglu Dorf GmbH.

The activities in the igloo villages are varied and suitable for both connoisseurs and active groups. Cosy and relaxed in the igloo bar, relaxed with an igloo fondue or BBQ, informative on an igloo guided tour, active with snowshoeing, sculpture building or of course building your own igloo. The igloos can also be rented exclusively for companies and even the wedding ceremony can take place in the igloo and will create unforgettable memories.

Romance in a fairytale winter landscape

Other igloo activities are available at the Hotel Landgasthof Kemmeriboden-Bad in Emmental. This igloo is particularly romantic and ideal for fondue evenings and unforgettable overnight stays. Back in 2008, an igloo was built on the forecourt of the Kemmeriboden-Bad and has been passionately rebuilt every December ever since.

Editor's update: Unfortunately, the Hotel Landgasthof Kemmeriboden Bad was flooded by the overflowing Emme in July 2022 and is temporarily closed. We wish the Kemmeriboden team every success with the reconstruction and hope that the gastronomic offers including the winter wonderland and igloo offers can soon be experienced again.

Celebrate in Europe's largest igloo restaurant

We also discovered an igloo village in Adelboden on Engstligenalp. Designed as an event location, the Schneeiglu is the largest igloo restaurant in Europe and is particularly suitable for company celebrations as well as family parties. Have you always wanted to spend the night in an igloo? Or build your own with the children like the Inuits? Or enjoy a fondue with friends in an igloo? All this is possible.

18 luxury pods and 9 suite chalets in the heart of the Valais Alps

The Whitepod Eco Resort in Les Giettes in the Valais combines ecology with luxury and the so-called pods are super cosy and offer a spectacular view of the Swiss Alps at 1500 metres above sea level.

Ecology and luxury in perfect symbiosis: the hemispherical cocoons stand on platforms in the middle of nature at 1500 m.a.s.l. and offer not only all the comforts but also a dreamlike view of the Swiss Alps.

Spectacular igloo villages abroad

There are also many extraordinary igloo villages abroad to marvel at. We have researched some spectacular igloos.

IGLOOTEL in Lapland (Sweden)

High in the north of Swedish Lapland, the unique IGLOOTEL will be built again this winter. At the end of November, when the temperatures drop and stay permanently below freezing, a very special snow hotel will be built using snow blowers, special balloons and muscle power.

Igloo-village Hotel Kakslauttanen (Finland)

Here you can even spend the night in glass igloos and watch the impressive Northern Lights from the igloo! Bookable during the Northern Lights season (August - April). More information

SnowCastle (Finland)

The SnowCastle of Kemi in Finland is an architectural masterpiece by local artists. Every winter the beautiful igloos with ice sculptures, snow restaurant, hotel and even a snow chapel are built.
